Meal Distribution
Meals are provided every Monday for the week. Due to logistical constraints, delivery options are limited and is not available for families that live within 3 miles of the school at this time. However, we will distribute meals at the school building between 11 am and 3 pm. Please use the updated registration form to add your child’s name to our meal distribution list. Please complete this form for each (MS)2 student who will be receiving the meals by 9 am by Wednesday for the following Monday. *Please note delivery is not available for families in NW

Starting Monday, August 31, 2020, Howard University Middle School students will begin using the Summit Learning Platform. Be sure to check out Summit and navigate through the platform. Here you can track your student’s progress.

Attendance Reminder

  • School starts promptly at 8:10 am.
  • Parents will receive a notice in the event that your child is marked absent in their first period class
  • If your child is absent to school, please send a detailed note the following day and/or email
  • Counselors will reach out if a student’s absences impact their academic performance regardless of whether or not they are excused.
Contacting Students
As we work together to navigate this new process, we want to support all parents who are trying to manage your own work schedules with your child’s virtual learning expectations. If you are not at home during the week, are working from home and/or need additional support with keeping your child engaged during virtual learning, please use this Student Contact Authorization form to share your child’s contact information and confirm that we may reach out directly to them as soon as possible. School staff will send students text reminders and/or call them to make sure they are logged in daily and getting the support they need to complete their assignments.

Opportunities in the Community

Washington DC Links
The Washington (DC) Chapter of LINKS is working with the students of Howard University Middle of Mathematics and Science. These 75 distinguished professional women work to make a difference in our school community. They provide our students with educational opportunities that are fun and exciting for our students, such as trips to art museums, the National Museum of African American History & Culture, historically African American films and Howard University's Dental School. In addition, they give time to do activities with students such as mentoring with girls and STEAM Career Fair to name a few. These distinguished women give their time, energy, and finances to assist our students with their educational experience here at Howard University (MS)2.
